There’s always that one sibling who just refuses to take no for an answer… and over on @bubba.and.gumbo, this reel shows exactly that in action. Eleven-month-old Gumbo is currently on a mission to get his brother’s attention.
Bubba, his older sibling, is three and just wants some peace on the carpet, but Gumbo does not yet understand the concept of boundaries. He wants to play with his Beagle sibling, and as his human says in the video’s caption, “He won’t give up until Bubba gives in.”

When the clip begins, we see Gumbo sitting right next to the couch. He is looking up at the camera with those massive eyes, and the text on the screen translates that look. “I want to play,” it says. Then the camera pans over to Bubba, who is lying down on the carpet with a grumpy expression. His chin is resting on his front paws, and he really looks like he doesn’t want to move anytime soon. His expression is a very clear “no.”
But Gumbo does not care about that rejection at all. The little Beagle approaches his sibling anyway to play. He walks right up to his side and starts playfully bracing him. You can tell he is trying to force a reaction. It is a very funny power struggle, and he keeps pushing until something finally happens.
Finally, the older pup cracks. He realizes he is not getting any more downtime, so he stands up and accepts his fate. The in-video text from Bubba’s POV says, “fine, let’s go.” Suddenly, they are both tackling each other. And eventually chase each other right out of the room. It is a total 180 from the quiet scene earlier.
One viewer commented that they are just so happy to see them play. It has over 1.4k likes already because sibling relationships are the same regardless of the species. One is always ready for chaos. The other is just trying to nap.
